It's no surprise that some of the best hosting and some of the best parties happen around the holidays. We love it. And we are always so inspired to try something new and create a fresh and inviting vibe for our next gathering! We thought we'd share some winter tablescape ideas with you for your next holiday party! Grab a glass of wine, sit back, put on a Christmas sweater while you're at it, and get inspired for some amazing Christmas table decor ideas! The hardest decision will be deciding which design you like best.
1. The Traditional Christmas
COULD ANYTHING SAY "CHRISTMAS" MORE THAN THIS?! This table was inspired by the thought and colors of Christmas: red, gold and everything classic! While we used this color palette, we had to add some unexpected elements to put our own twist on this traditional table. We started with red taper candles held in classic crystal and brass holders. These are the perfect touch to add lots of height to your table. Height is so important and often forgotten on many tables! It draws the eye up and out and makes everything feel more grand and alive. The centerpiece arrangement we created for this table also has the traditional red and white hues with lots of greenery. But it needed that extra texture, so we added pampas grass which was the perfect touch! We set this arrangement on a white cake stand to give it more height and really give it that "WOW" factor as the center of the table. For the table runner, we used a white linen fabric and bunched it around all the candles to give it dimension. Don't you just love that dreamy cloud-like vibe it gives?! We then chose classic simple white plates with red accent napkins from World Market and gold flatware from Target. We finished the place settings with a glass of red wine (from our friends over at GV Cellars!) and champagne of course! For place cards we used a translucent paper torn at the edges with black ink. Then, to add a little flare, we put some gold foiling on the edges of the cards.
2. Winter Whites
Winter whites make us think all things elegant and whimsical (snow, furs, the alps, etc.). With never enough candles, this table will light up the perfect holiday dinner for you! Instead of going big, the whimiscality of this design is carried through the multiple candles and various vases and daintier, almost translucent, greenery. The mood is set through a white, grey and silver color palette, and white spray roses and greenery create the perfect match. We started this table with a soft gray tablecloth and clear glass tea light candles, taller hurricane candles and silver mercury glass candle votives. Then, we added all different heights of clear bottles with greenery and flowers filling them. For the place settings we used a classic white plate, rose point silverware, with crystal water and champagne glasses. We also added a white tea cup and saucer. We went with white linen napkins from World Market and wrapped them with a grey velvet ribbon. We placed navy place cards on top of the napkins with silver lettering and a little sprig of greenery. For a finishing touch, we added white rose petals to scatter around the table. Talk about MAGIC.
3. Rustic Rouge
This is a fun take on a rustic table with a simple garland and plaid table cloth. Fun fact: we used a blanket scarf for the tablecloth and positioned it diagonally to show the corners of the table! For the garland we did a mixture of all different textures of greenery to create a full look. Next, we added in pine cones of all sizes to the garland and then we set gold mercury glass votives around the table. This combination is the perfect, easy way to decorate your holiday table! For the place settings we once again used a classic white plate and gold flatware. Then, we had some fun with the glasses! We used a copper moscow mule mug and added a sprig of rosemary and a champagne glass with one of our fav sparkling wines, Freixenet, and berries (our favorite!) to finish it off. And, of course, we have to have our glass of red wine! We used the same World Market ivory napkins, but rolled them up with a stick of cinnamon and wrapped them with twine. Then, for an extra special touch, we did the place cards on a camellia leaf with a copper metallic pen. But, our favorite part of this table!? The sliced grapefruit on this amazing Anthropologie wood and copper cake stand! We’re obsessed and may need sliced fruit on every table from here on out. This table is giving us all the organic-cabin vibes!
