September and October are two of the most popular months of the year to get married, and they are right around the corner. We've had a lot of brides lately ask us for ideas for their wedding party favors. So for those of you brides tying up loose and final details we've got your wedding favor ideas on lock. Consider this the wedding favor Bible. If its worth doing--we found it. Without further adieu: 28 party favors that don't totally suck.
1. Mini Champagne Bottles
We have to be honest with ya here--this might be one of our all time favorite favors. I mean what says "let's celebrate" more than a bottle of champagne?! And who doesn't love champagne? People who don't love champagne are people I don't want to know. Plus, mini bottles are just the cutest things ever. Tie them up with a bow and a cute hand-written tag and you're all set.
We've seen all the cute puns when it comes to the coffee wedding favor. Seriously the options are endless: "Grounds for Celebration", "Thanks for BEAN around", "A Perfect Blend", "Love is Brewing", "Let Love Brew", "Thanks a Latte". We could go on. Either way, this wedding favor is definitely one your guests will use and doesn't break the budget!
3. A Midnight Snack
YUP. No one could possibly resist a midnight snack after celebrating, drinking, and dancing the night away. Send your loved ones out with a little package sure to keep the late night munchies satisfied, and help them sober-up a bit too. Not to mention, you can get darn creative with what you want to put in your midnight snack!
4. Candy Bar
This one is so easy, pretty affordable, super adorable. Your guests get to have fun putting together their take home bags, and it will even keep the kiddos excited and distracted. Many wins.
5. Gourmet Mini Bakery Boxes
Nothing is more sweet and pretty than little boxes filled with a couple gourmet bakery treats. You could fill these pretties with macarons or little cookies, or maybe his and her favorites from your favorite local bakery!
Sure, matches are done a lot. But--they are pretty affordable and let's be honest, we all do use those matches we get from weddings! And if you get cute free downloadable covers (like these ones found here), it can be a "match" made in heaven. Yeah. I went there.
7. Tequila Bottles (or other mini alcohols)
Tequila bottles can be the perfect favor for many possible reasons: 1. Your wedding is a destination wedding in Mexico. 2. Your wedding is in California. 3. You're serving Mexican food at your wedding. 4. You are Mexican. 5. You + your boo love Mexico. 6. You love tequila. (Okay are we just describing ourselves at this point....?) Either way, any alcohol of your choice makes a great party favor to keep the party going for your guests later on. As always--add a cute handwritten tag to make it even more personal.
Candles. They just make sense. Everyone loves candles. They smell good. They're romantic. People like to buy candles. This saves them from buying candles. Candle favors are a win.
Jam (homemade or otherwise) is a great party favor. Especially if you are getting married in a more rustic setting like a farm or outdoors on the plains. It's a sweet favor that makes your guests feel like they're leaving grandmas and she's sending them home with her famous homemade strawberry-rhubarb jam. It feels home-y. And your guests will use it for weeks to come and keep reminiscing on the good times.
10. Caramel Apples
Fall is just around the corner, and if you are getting married in the Fall, caramel/candied apples are one of the best seasonal party favors. (And you know us--we love playing up the season and our surroundings!) So if you're getting married in upstate NY, on a apple orchard, or anywhere in Michigan this is definitely one for you. Plus, we have seen it done so many different ways. You could create a full caramel apple bar. Or have them all already dipped and wrapped up beautifully in cellophane with little tags ready to grab. You could even create your own "caramel apple kits" for your guests complete with apple, caramel, and a topping. [Also, if you're big on the pun thing, there's been a few of those for these favors too. We're talking stuff like: Pam + Jim: Appley Married]
11. Infused Olive Oil
All I can say is: YES PLEASE. Whoever is getting married soon and having this as their wedding favor please invite me just so I can take this cutie home with me. Its beautiful and practical (I mean everyone cooks with olive oil). And there's something romantic about it. Take it with you for a picnic and a fresh loaf of bread with a bottle of wine and you're having a good time. Plus it takes us back to our backpacking days through Italy... ahh. Oh yeah, this gift would also work for an Italian destiantion wedding. Or maybe more likely--an Italian inspired wedding?
Who doesn't love smores? I ask you. It takes us back to camping on the beach as kids and still makes a stellar dessert as an adult. Don't forget to package these little individual boxes up with a personal tag. Of course there are puns a plenty for this as well, like "S'more Love". And if you + the hubs are campers or outdoorsy types, you could even add a sweet personal note about a favorite trail you guys like to hike. Or a memory you two have on your first outdoor adventure together. Or if you are getting married somewhere in the mountains/outdoors/wilderness (ex: Yosemite), you could include a trailhead map of the area--maybe your guests will go on a hike nearby the next day!
13. Potted Plants
We mentioned this in our last blogpost... potted plants make a great party favor. In fact, its probably one of the longest lasting party favors you could give. And the types of plants are endless... A lot of people love to give succulents, and they are less difficult to kill, so thats a plus. There's also the obvious puns for these guys too like "Let Love Grow".
14. Hot Sauce
Okay, we hear you--this is definitely a more unique favor to give. But dare to be different! The whole reason you're looking at this blog post today is because you (like us) are tired of the boring commonplace wedding favors you've gotten over the years. Keep the celebrations going at home for your guests!
Giving bottles of wine as a wedding favor is especially perfect for the wine loving couple or those getting married on a vineyard. In fact, many vineyards can arrange a package for their wine to be used as your wedding favors. Which, for your guests, is like a double win--they get to go to a wedding celebrating people they love and they get to visit a great vineyard and basically get a free tasting. Not to mention, there are a lot of companies out there that can make custom labels for your special day, like this one here.
It's been done, sure. But everyone uses honey and it lasts forever--just like your love.
19. Specialty Sodas
If you're the non-alcoholic type (or just don't want to give Uncle Ricky his 8th drink of the night) consider opting for cute old fashioned specialty sodas for your party favor! Even better, if you're a couple obsessed with all things vintage and retro, this could be the perfect thing for you. Or maybe do a his + hers fave old fashioned sodas. You could even probably do custom labels for these guys too--complete with your own adorable description of what the drink tastes like.
Limoncello--again taking us back to our backpacking days through Italy sitting outside in the evening sipping away--is an Italian after dinner drink. It's super cute and vibrant and would make a great summer wedding party favor. In fact you can learn to make it yourself and cut costs down for your wedding. Learn here.
21. MaplE Syrup
Maple Syrup is like the less-done-wedding-favor-cousin of honey. Its super sweet, which means all the same "sweet" puns you could use for honey still apply. Yes, your love is as sweet as can be. Plus, if you're getting married in Vermont or Canada--this would definitely make the perfect gift.
22. Hot Chocolate Mixes
This is another great favor for fall or winter weddings. In fact, you can really do a lot of different things with hot chocolate recipes. You could add peppermint for a winter / holiday wedding.
