Happy Cinco de Mayo! If you're celebrating this weekend, you guys NEED this pink grapefruit margarita recipe. Seriously. We've had a lot of margs in our lifetime, but this one may have just been the most delicious one we've ever had. I mean, sweet grapefruit + lime + a chili sugar salt rim?! It has everything. Sweet. Tangy. Savory. And refreshing. But don't just take our word for it, taste it for yourselves!
Ingredients (for 1):
- 1 1/2 oz Tequila blanco
- 2 oz Grand Marnier
- 2 1/2 oz grapefruit simple syrup (recipe below!)
- 2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 oz freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
- salt + sugar + chili powder for the rim
- 1 lime sliced for garnish
Grapefruit Simple Syrup
- 1/2 cup fresh grapefruit juice
- 1/2 cup sugar
Make the grapefruit simple syrup first! Combine juice + sugar in a small saucepan over medium high heat. Bring to a boil, stirring, until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool. (Now you have syrup! We poured ours into a mason jar to keep.)
Combine equal parts sugar, salt, and chili powder on a small plate and stir to combine.
Rim a margarita glass with a lime wedge and dip the glass into the salt mixture. Fill the glass with crushed ice.
In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, grand marnier, lime juice, grapefruit juice, and simple syrup. Shake and pour into glass over ice.
Garnish with a lime wedge! And CHEERS. It's time to start drinkin'.
Happy friday and happy festivities! If you make this yummy drink tonight, don't forget to show us! Tag your photos with #WandWDinners so we can see!
