Raise your hand if you're planning your desert wedding right now! *insert hand raising emoji* Well this week we are bringing you some killer desert inspo. We will never get over a good desert wedding. Maybe it's because we're from California. Maybe we are biased. But nothing tops the beauty of that raw landscape and the desert sun. We teamed up with some rad folks to create this stunning moody + romantic desert styled shoot, that brought boho to a more modern and elevated feel. Get your pin-boards ready....
As we envisioned the florals for this shoot, we could only take our inspiration from the landscape and the colors of the desert. The deserts colors are various shades of tans and muted greens with rusty orange skies as the sun sets. So we opted to bring those colors into the bouquet in tones that compliment one another the way the desert does so naturally. Secondly, the desert is home to some of the most textured plants and landscapes. Cacti, tumbleweeds, jagged rocks, crunchy dried bushes, long stemmed plants, and cracked earth. We wanted to bring all those elements into the bouquet as well, echoing the different textures of the desert. We also opted for a crown that focused on that texture and color as opposed to full flowers. Her crown took inspiration from the taupey - greens and the long stemmed plants that grow and dry up on the desert floor. This gave it a little bit of an edge -- a little modern, a little boho.
Have you been inspired by boho vibes but aren't really the full macrame and fringe-sleeved type of boho bride? Not to worry -- you can take some bohemian elements but still elevate it and modernize it a bit. Some tips we suggest: modern slim fit black tux for the groom! The clean, crisp contrasting lines make it super modern. Often full bohemian grooms opt for a maroon or blue or tan suit. Go for a classic black tux to elevate it a bit and bring in those modern lines!
Keep the modern feel throughout by opting for "less" in some areas. Instead of a fringe long-sleeved gown opt for a lace gown in a more modern silhouette. Wear a veil! Maybe choose more minimalist table centerpieces. There's tons of ways to balance boho and modern vibes.
To say we love this vibe is an understatement. If you're in the midst of planning your desert wedding, and are looking for some killer desert inspired florals like the ones above let us know and let's make your vision a reality. I mean seriously, does it get any better than this?! DROOL CITY, POPULATION US.
