From individual mini pies for dessert from their favorite pie place, to hot sauce gifts for the guests, this wedding was uniquely Megan + Joe's! We love that! And their venue, Franciscan Gardens, is one of our faves! Located in the heart of historic San Juan Capistrano, their venue was an incredible restored historic building! It brought such a magical old world charm to their special day. Did we mention they also had their first look at the historic Mission San Juan Capistrano?! What a dreamy setting! Everything about their day felt rich with intention and history, and we just couldn't get enough. We know you won't be able to either...
What was your favorite part of the wedding day?
"Family is very important to Joe and I so getting to see all off our family in one place and some of our best friends from all over made the day extra special for us. Looking out at all the love during the ceremony and getting to celebrate and party with everyone at the reception was truly something we will never forget. We have the best people supporting us in our marriage!"
What was the most stressful part of the planning process?
"Joe and I were living up in DTLA while planning our OC wedding so coordinating everything from tasting menus to wedding venue tours was a little challenging with our schedules when we also added a commute for anything that needed to be done in person. We were so grateful to have the team at Willow & Wine helping us bridge that gap so that we could focus on the important things and they could work out the details for us :)"
What is the best piece of advice you could give someone planning now?
"The best piece of advice we received and that we could give to other couples getting ready to tie the knot would be to try to soak in every little moment on your wedding day because it goes so fast! We took a few minutes to ourselves without anyone else around right after the ceremony to enjoy being husband and wife and it was the best decision. We made sure to appreciate every minute of our wedding day."
When it came to the floral elements for Megan's wedding, we knew she really loved two things: lavender and succulents. So we incorporated them into almost everything! When Megan + Joe exited the ceremony, guests threw dried lavender over them. On the reception tables, we even used succulents from Megan's grandma's garden! These special, sentimental touches made everything even more uniquely theirs.
When envisioning your wedding what was the one most important thing to you?
"When we talked about what we pictured for our wedding day, Joe and I decided the we wanted everything to truly represent us and our relationship. We wanted to share our love and the things we cared about with the people who mean the most to us. From hot sauce favors to dessert pies, we tried to include little pieces of us everywhere we could."
We loved every minute of this wedding! Megan + Joe, thank you for trusting us to be a part of your special day! We are truly, truly honored. Cheers to your new journey as husband and wife!
