We cannot get enough of these two! From Sarah’s biggest smiles, to Austin’s pure excitement and energy, you could tell this couple was truly living the best day of their lives. It’s couples like Sarah + Austin that make our job a true dream and honor. We just live for these moments and stories and that LOVE! Seriously—you guys have to scroll through and see how happy Austin is the whole day to be marrying Sarah. You are going to fall in love with these two just as much as we did. We created the bouquets, boutennieres, corsages, sweetheart table and cake flowers for their big day, full of Sarah’s dream color palette: peaches, purples, and blush, full of berries and tons of texture. Actually, it’s our dream color palette too. We also couldn’t be more obsessed with the venue Sarah + Austin chose for their wedding day! A hidden gem in Santa Ana, the Hacienda is a stunning, lush, overgrown Spanish-inspired space. It feels truly magical when you are there. Just take a look for yourself and hear how Sarah explains the vision for their wedding, and her advice to those of you planning now….
When envisioning your wedding what was the one most important thing to you?
The most important thing to me was including elements of our families in the wedding. Both of our families play a huge role in our lives, so I wanted to make sure that they were represented well! We had our parents wedding photos set up on our guestbook table (or should i say guest-jenga table, we had our guests sign jenga blocks so that we can read their notes when we have game nights!). It was super fun to have their nearly identical and obviously early-90s photos set up for everyone to see. Also, my mom had her wedding dress deconstructed to make my purse and garter set by Alisha at One Blushing Bride (shoutout to her!) and I wore my sister's veil. They were little, but fun things that I felt made the day more special!
What was the most stressful part of the planning process?
The two weeks before the wedding were by far the most stressful. We both work long hours, so it made it hard to get all of the little details finished. Planning the seating assignments was super stressful for me, and then we also DIY-ed the table numbers, seating chart, and a few signs. The biggest thing I would recommend is to not be afraid to ask for help! We could not have gotten it done without the help of my parents and bridesmaids, bless their hearts! They helped with finishing up all of the little details and also offered a lot of emotional support because that pre-wedding stress is real!
What was your favorite part of the wedding day?
The whole day was my favorite! But seriously, there are too many favorites to choose from, so I'll narrow it down to just a few hahah!
The first look- Seeing Austin's reaction to seeing me for the first time that day was incredible. I felt like the most beautiful woman in the world and it was just such a special moment between the two of us before the ceremony began.
The ceremony- We had a very simple ceremony which was perfect for us, we didn't want it to go for too long because we couldn't wait to party with our guests! Priorities...lol! We did write our own vows, which I absolutely loved, and would recommend to everyone. I cried a lot (all brides should make their officiant hold tissues for them- something that I did not have). His vows were so sweet and heartfelt, that I became so genuinely caught up in the moment that it felt like we were the only two people in the room. It was such a meaningful and special moment during our day.
What is the best piece of advice someone gave you while you were planning your wedding?
Everyone told me not to stress on my wedding day, and I have to say that it is the best advice ever! I naturally am a control freak and had been crazy stressed in the few weeks leading up to the wedding. We dropped off all of the decor that we were bringing in to the venue on the night of the rehearsal, and after that I told myself that I was not allowed to stress anymore. The day of the wedding could not have run more smoothly, and I did not care enough to notice whatever did go "wrong". The odds are, your guests are not going to notice if something isn't set up just so or didn't run completely smoothly, so why should you! Having that mindset helped me so much, and I was able to enjoy myself the entire day. Having an awesome bridal party also helped because we were so preoccupied having fun while getting ready, there was no time to stress or worry
I mean—this exit car alone is enough to make all your rom-com dreams come true. Where can we get one for our everyday life?! Can we just personally have a driver take us around everywhere in this beauty?! Obsessed is an understatement.
We couldn’t be happier for these two, and we were so honored to do their personal flowers for their big day. Sarah + Austin—may you never lose that genuine happiness and excitement to share this life together. Cheers to many more of years of just that.
